- This third staff member mentioned about me setting up a tab.
- I said it was not a tab as she would not let me set up a tab (noting the experienced person).
- She stated that this was policy.
- I said that I could have a tab – I was short in this interaction.
- I was short with those staff.
- I had signed a name that was not my own (common point that makes no difference and should highlight that I had not been asked to sign the accound sheet – something they should be doing to get a signature comparison).
- I had torn up my receipt and asked them to destroy it (something I have always done as I do not keep these receipts).
- I also challenged him on the method of approach he had to arriving with me on the table. After he admitted he should have asked my experience before trying to chastise me like a child we discussed that this situation with the tab is a ludacrous policy – according to him PTI policy.
20.30 – 26th March 2011 we did not know much about earth hour but had made a suggestion on twitter (see feed on right – if soon). But we embraced the idea as we should. I believe the suggestions I made to the earth hour twitter feed are great and will include them at the end in a slightly longer, less txt spk, way.
Meanwhile we geared up to have dinner, toasted marshmallow and some coffee cake, on the open fire in the back garden. As this was not a taxing experience and we enjoy firelight in the back garden this became almost earth three hours.
During this process my father pointed out that as the clocks were changing this evening had we already done the hour – a point to consider is should we do 2 hours based on the direction the clocks were moving?
preparation for earth hour…..

aftermath

Twitter suggestions were
Idea do #earthhour simultaneous across planet, each month diff hour. 24month-24hrs @WWF_Australia 1/2
http://twitter.com/#!/desc/status/50787389269999616
then in yr3 we can get to 2 #earthhour in 2 timezones each month – 12 months-24hours and so on @WWF_Australia 2/2
http://twitter.com/#!/desc/status/50788168202584064
This made sense to me – we choose a time zone which might start with 20.00 GMT and so this would be 21.00 CET an so on across the globe. So all time zones do earth hour simultaneously across the planet. Then next month it could be 20.00 CET (19.00 GMT) all for one hour per month. Each time zone therefore gets a fair share of the times that are easy to do like the middle of the night, and in 2 years we cover all 24 hour slots.
Then when the plaent gets used to the idea we could start buildign on this and try a goal of 2 hour blocks in 2 time zones together – hence all in one year – 12 months.
Thoughts?
