I really enjoyed watching the “bbc click” take on augmented reality that they did last year and wrote some thoughts about a possible future in a book I read here. In such a short space of time we have progress on all fronts practical and fun.
- Google googles is set to change the interactions we have over dinner in a restaurant abroad – it may spoil the fun or the surprise.
- The second clip is of a tatoo I may actually consider. especially if the same barcode could lead to different imagery. There are a lot of possibilities for fun here like parties where your stuff changes depending on the room you are in………
- Third is the Avatar toys – just WOW…………..
Everyone is clearly focussed on 3D but I believe AR will win in the end. The question remains will the focus on the fun stuff hamper or delay the progress on the practical life changing stuff?
